Ok, here is the thing,, my spouse became extremely religious after moving south..now he is a different person who is soon to point out things are a lie, and he is not so much wrong. I have grown to part further from religion now then before after seeing what living in a bible belt does to someone.

Perhaps God is great.

But history would seem to suggest organized religion, many times, takes any of God’s supposed greatness and completely demolishes it, yes?

Wouldn’t your faith be better if practiced privately or among a small amount of people, rather than 300 people listening to one man’s interpretation (which is very likely to be different from all 300 people’s in that room)?

Yes. I’ve never understood the logic of this one. Christians certainly don’t say that any person is perfect. And so when Hitchens or anyone else starts pointing out what horrible act some Christian or other has done, I get the feeling that they have totally missed the point.

Bring on the debate with Craig and Hitchens. Hitchens is a skilled orator, but his thinking is muddled. Craig’s thinking is very clear, but he will have an uphill battle against someone who acts more like a politician than a scholar. We’ll see.
